Thomas
Besides having Megaesophagus that requires him to eat only mush consistency food upright (we grind up his Nulo dry food into a powder and add water and wet canned food to it!), he also has Myasthenia Gravis which is a weakness and soreness in his muscles and joints. There are times when his giant back legs are to painful and he has to be lifted or assisted maneuvering around.
We have many super powered kids that are a part of our rescue family that also have Myasthenia Gravis and even take the exact same medicine and the exact same dose as Thomas does (he is bigger than many of them after all!). They understand the feeling of your body seemingly working against you and there not being much you can do about it. That’s what makes Thomas such an incredibly relatable and special friend to them.
Despite everything this boy has had stacked against him he continues to grow and thrive and inspire! It must be all that Nulo Pet Food
he’s eating!
You do not want to know how much he has to eat in one day! Just look at the size of his bowl! And he eats up to 4-5 times a day depending on his symptoms, which means he really needs to be comfortable in his chair cause that’s between 2 & 2 1/2 hours he’s sitting in it to prevent aspiration.
