Max (Maximus)
Everyone meet Max (Maximus)!

We agreed to take in this big boy last week when we heard he was headed to auction because he has Navicular Syndrome. (Which means he is not a riding horse.) He has to wear special shoes and was going lame every time someone more than 120lbs would ride him for a few hours.
Poor Max was dumped at a kill pen six months ago probably for the same reason. The family that had him, saved him from a horrible fate, but was sad to find out about his Syndrome. He is well trained, doesn’t spook at all, and eager to say hi to everyone! He’s curious and kind and we love him already!
David grew up in Tennessee and loves that we now have a Tennessee Walking Horse! He wanted to name him whiskey, but for obvious reasons... we went with Maximus!

We are thankful that the family reached out to get him to a sanctuary because he definitely deserves to spend the rest of his life being celebrated and loved!
Also, can we talk about the fact that some incredible kids that come to visit us with special shoes of their own are going to be SO EXCITED to meet our new gentle giant!!!

Welcome to family, Max!!
